Welcome to Hephzibah Bride!
I’m Modupe and I’m maaaaaaad about weddings! When I was about 6 years old, my mother was helping a friend abroad purchase her wedding dress, and she bought a wedding magazine to help her out. That mag was read by me hundreds of times over, cover to cover. That’s how my weddings obsession began and it hasn’t waned since!
I had my very own wedding in 2007, but I still need my regular wedding fix! I’ve told my hubby that I could easily get married every year (to the same man of course!). Whilst that isn’t practical, I thought, why not inspire other brides? I always get super-excited when someone says they are planning a wedding and immediately I go into “what colours are you having?” “How many bridesmaids?” etc mode – actually, I probably terrify brides-to be’s!
So I started a wedding blog. My other blog was going ok but I felt that I needed/wanted to overtly reflect my Christian faith in my blog and inspire other Christian brides (there isn’t much out there for brides planning a Christ-centred wedding), so here you have it – Hephzibah Brides.
Hephzibah means ‘His delight is in her’ in Hebrew {Isaiah 62:4}. I’m assuming (hoping) that a Christian bride would want the Lord to take delight in the choices she makes regarding her wedding {1st Corinthians 10:31}.
Hephzibah Bride is a Christian wedding blog that is filled with gorgeous wedding ideas (yes, Christians have gorgeous weddings!) and also includes details of resources for Christian marriage preparation – after all, the wedding is only the beginning! {Just to clarify: I do not provide the marriage preparation guidance myself as I’m in no place to do so – having only been married for 3.5 years with still loads to learn!}
If you’re not a Christian bride-to-be, don’t be put off – you’re sure to find something here that will inspire you.
I live in the UK (no – this ISN’T an American-born wedding blog!) so the content of this blog will be mainly from a British perspective (for now), but of course Christian brides-to-be all over the world will hopefully get great inspiration from Hephzibah Bride.
As well as being Christian, I am also a Nigerian married to a Ghanaian so some of the posts will have a bit of West African ‘flava’ injected
Anyways, I hope you will be inspired and blessed by this blog!
Modupe
xXx
