How to Become A Christian {Bride}

So, what is a Christian wedding? A Christian wedding isn’t about getting married in a church and singing hymns in the ceremony, but about two people who have had their sins forgiven, and have a relationship with God. They want to please and honour God in everything, including their wedding and marriage.

I know there are readers of this Christian wedding blog who are not Christians, and may be wondering what this Christian malarkey is all about and ‘how does one become a Christian anyways?’

Well, when God made the world, everything was perfect (Genesis 1:31). He had a wonderful relationship with mankind, but we (well Adam and Eve) spoilt it and since then, all were born into sin – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23.

And yes, we ALL have sinned – “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” 1st John 1:8.

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6.

Thankfully, God had a plan up His sleeve to restore His relationship with man.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement” Romans 5:8-11

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” Romans 5:19

This is all you need to do:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1st John 1:9

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

You just need to confess to God wherever you are, just talk to Him as you talk to a friend. There’s no need to confess to any human – it’s God that needs to hear it and that forgives.

You’ll know when you’ve become a Christian, saved, born again because “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” Romans 8:16. You’ll just feel it and know. You will live a changed life effortlessly “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2nd Corinthians 5:17

Once you have become a Christian, you will need to maintain your relationship with God by praying (talking to God) and reading your Bible everyday and then finding a Bible believing and teaching church so that you can have some guidance in your new Christian life. You can also download this free booklet that takes you through your first 30 days a Christian.
