Even back in late 2018, Toyota\u2019s chief engineer at the time, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2018\/12\/toyota-supra-convertible-consider-says-chief-engineer\/\">Tetsuya Tada, hinted that the company<\/a> was considering it. Yet, despite the speculation, Toyota never pulled the trigger. The Supra, after all, shares its development with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/bmw-z4\/\">BMW Z4<\/a>, which, as luck would have it, is a convertible. So, what does this enterprising individual do? They swap the Z4\u2019s front end with that of a Supra, and the result is surprisingly good-looking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2025\/03\/toyotas-manual-only-gr-supra-a90-final-edition-is-more-expensive-than-a-porsche-911-carrera-t\/\">Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition Costs $15K More Than A Porsche 911!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We haven\u2019t been able to find any images that show the process of this Z4\u2019s fascia being replaced with one from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/toyota-supra\/\">Supra<\/a>, but it would have been quite an involved process. Despite the cars sharing the same underpinnings, they look very different. We\u2019ve always thought the Z4 looked better than its Toyota sibling, particularly since the design of the sides is less convoluted. It\u2019s particularly impressive how the edge of the Toyota\u2019s clamshell has been lined up perfectly to match the creases running along the Z4\u2019s doors and stretching back to the tip of the taillights.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, the Toyota Supra is reaching the end of its life. Earlier this year, the automaker unveiled separate Final Edition versions of the car for Japan and Europe, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2025\/04\/america-gets-its-own-toyota-supra-final-edition-but-no-extra-power\/\">then another for the American market<\/a>.
