America’s 2026 Corolla Cross Looks Sharper But It’s Missing Something

- The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross has received a facelift for the US and Canadian markets.
- The hybrid model receives a new bumper, while the gas-powered model gets a new grille.
- Inside, the crossover boasts a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen and revised center console.
It’s refresh time for Toyota’s compact Corolla Cross in North America too following its global reveal earlier today. While the changes are subtle, they do bring a few welcome upgrades. Key highlights include a redesigned front end for the Hybrid model and a larger, 10.5-inch infotainment display.

Starting with the hybrid variant, it adopts a new design for the front bumper, featuring a body-color grille featuring a honeycomb pattern. This mirrors the styling of the facelifted Thai-spec model that was introduced last year. A similar treatment has been applied to the European-spec Corolla Cross, and will likely find its way into the Japanese model in the coming months.

The gas-powered Corolla Cross sees more modest updates. The grille has been restyled, giving the front end a bit of extra ruggedness, though the bodywork remains largely unchanged. Toyota has introduced new options for the 18-inch alloy wheels, offering a dark gray finish on the XLE trim and a gloss black finish on the XSE. There’s also a new Cavalry Blue exterior color, which can be paired with a Jet Black roof for a two-tone look.
No GR Sport Trim for US
Sadly, US buyers won’t be able to get their hands on the more aggressive-looking Corolla Cross GR Sport trim, which was just unveiled for the European market. The GR Sport adds a Gazoo Racing body kit and a sharper chassis setup but, disappointingly, doesn’t include any extra power – if that offers any consolation. Still, it would have been a welcome addition to the range.
Larger Infotainment Screen and Enhanced Tech Features
Inside, the biggest change is the new 10.5-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, which comes standard on the XLE and XSE trims, with the option available on the LE and SE trims. This new display is a significant upgrade from the 8-inch unit in the previous model, providing a more modern feel. The 10.5-inch screen is paired with a 7-inch or 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, depending on the trim.

The center console has been redesigned for a cleaner look and improved storage options. Other tech upgrades include up to four USB-C ports, wireless charging, and a nine-speaker JBL Premium audio system, depending on the trim level. As for safety, the Corolla Cross comes standard with nine airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Powertrain Stays the Same
There are no changes under the skin, with the gasoline and hybrid powertrain options carried over from the existing Corolla Cross. The gas-powered model still features the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 169 horsepower (126 kW / 171 PS). It’s paired with a CVT and comes with either front- or all-wheel drive. The hybrid version, on the other hand, offers a combined output of 194 horsepower (145 kW / 197 PS), with a sport-tuned suspension and all-wheel drive as standard.

The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross will continue to be assembled at Toyota’s Huntsville, Alabama factory. Pricing will be announced closer to the market launch, which is expected later this year.
