  • Jeep India has upgraded the Wrangler Rubicon with retro styling and more features.
  • The Wrangler 1941 Willys Edition gains an exclusive color option and cool accessories.
  • The anniversary special is powered by a stock turbo 2.0-liter engine with 270 hp.

Stellantis clearly has a thing for its heritage, and even more so for slapping special edition badges on just about anything and everywhere. Its latest creation is the Jeep Wrangler 1941 Willys Edition, which just debuted in India with a production run limited to 30 units. This anniversary model isn’t the same as the 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 Special Edition sold in the US, though both tip their hats to the same forebear with familiar retro-inspired styling cues.

Built on the Rubicon trim, this new variant gets a few styling and equipment upgrades. The standout feature is the exclusive ’41 Green color, which draws inspiration from the military green of the original Willys. A 1941 decal on the hood adds a touch of nostalgia.

If you’re looking for more customization, there’s an optional accessory package that includes a Sunrider roof, a side-mounted ladder, and a roof carrier. The powered side steps come standard, which is convenient if you’re not in the mood to manually step up into the cabin. Sadly, for Indian buyers, the upgraded wheels from the US version are missing in action. But, if you’re into rugged looks rather than flashy aesthetics, this won’t bother you much.

Inside, you’ll find a few key throwback touches, like retro grab handles and all-weather floor mats with bold red Jeep lettering. There are also front and rear dash cams.

Unlike the American Willys ’41 Special Edition that’s offered with the electrified 4xe powertrain, the Indian 1941 Willys Edition runs on gas. Under the hood lies the stock turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is good for 270 hp (201 kW / 274 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Jeep Wrangler 1941 Willys Edition is exclusively available in India, with a starting price of Rs 67.65 lakh ($80,300) before taxes and registration. Want the full accessory package? That’ll set you back an extra Rs 4.65 lakh ($5,500). Ultimately, the final ex-showroom price could hover around Rs 73.24 lakh ($87,000), according to Autocar India’s estimates.

Jeep claims the special edition carries a premium of Rs 1.59 lakh ($1,900) over the standard Wrangler Rubicon, though that price doesn’t include the cool accessories you see in the pictures. Still, for the 30 buyers who can get their hands on one, the price might be worth it for the added collectibility and limited availability.
